Yours seem more "classic" portraiture with a hell of a twist, expressed in different ways
The surfaces come towards you and recede. Something like Diego Rivera's formal group portrait at the Rockefeller Centre.
I guess it's Eyes Wide Shut or even Maplethorpe space where beauty is problematic, and attraction is accompanied by shame?
He does beautiful, problematic work, like, but not at all like, Robert Maplethorpe. Both are intelligently and often luridly Classical. Both seem to put up their works like bail to release old classics from the incarceration of Art History, and put them back on civvy street.
